A GUIDED STUDY

The Gospel of John

Meet Jesus through conversations, signs, and the language of love.

BEGIN WITH SCRIPTURE

Consider together

John introduces Jesus as the Word who enters human life. The Gospel then brings us into conversations with people whose questions and needs are different. Jesus is attentive to the person before Him. Reading John invites us to look beyond familiar religious phrases and ask what it means to receive His life and love.

Questions for reflection

  1. What does the image of light help you notice?
  2. How does Jesus attend to someone others might overlook?
  3. Where do you feel invited to ask a more honest question?

A practice for the week

Read one conversation in John twice. First notice Jesus’ words; then notice the person’s response. Write a short reflection in your own words.

A simple prayer

Jesus, help me listen with an open heart. Give me patience for what I do not yet understand, and courage to live out what I receive. Amen.
